SMS LUTZOW was a German Battle Cruiser First War and was the only German Battleship to sink during the battle of Jutland, she took a tremendous amount of punishment. Her crew were loyal to her and tried in vain to save the ship but was overwhelmed by the damage inflicted.
The end was near so the captain ordered abandon ship and in due course was scuttled by a German torpedo boat. she was part of the Derfflinger Class of which there were three and were well designed ships.
