Hi My name is john Briggs.
I have been painting water colour for seventy years I started when I was seven years old painting haulage vehicles and I thought as I got older I would have my own haulage business however this was not to be.
Instead I became an engineer working on heavy equipment for the construction industry I lasted thirteen years and learnt a considerable amount about angles colour and shading which I sketched when I got home.
During this period I travelled part round the world hitch hiking visiting Europe, North Africa and met some interesting people also some wonderful structures which developed my passion for architecture.
My life was unfulfilled and I became a sales person for engineering products within the local area. I liked this situation and became quite successful over a period of ten years until I formed my own company in engineering and ran it for 25 years. After retirement I dedicated myself to art Watercolours in Marine and Landscape.
Architecture the architecture did not need to be Royal it needed shape and a need to test myself. Which most buildings do we are again looking for shape shadow colour and texture.
So here we are I have mentioned the Landscapes and Marine are my favourites of mine and I have a few examples within the website.
